Summer Fun and Business Updates

Hey Everyone,

Hope you’re all enjoying the summer! I’ve got some updates to share with you, so let’s dive in.

Family Fun and Travel Plans

Father’s Day was a blast. We had a great breakfast and a big family dinner. Precious, Dan’s wife, took some awesome photos that you’ll see in this newsletter.

We’ve also booked a Mediterranean cruise for September! We’ll be visiting Italy, Croatia, Greece, and a few smaller islands. I can’t wait to explore new places and relax at the same time.

For the 4th of July, we’re heading to the cottage with the whole family. My mom and all her siblings have cottages nearby, so it’s always a big family get-together. Bill’s family will be there too. We’re looking forward to some quality time by the lake, celebrating birthdays, and just hanging out.

We had a great fathers day get together with the whole family. We got to celebrate with the longtime fathers as well as the new ones. We certainly appreciated having such great fathers as role models to look up to in our lives.

Landscaping Business Updates

On the work front, the landscaping business is going strong. Sales are steady, and we’re booked a few weeks in advance, which is great for those planning fall projects. The hot weather is tough, but our team is handling it well.

We’ve done some cool projects this season, including natural stone waterfalls into pools. These features look amazing, and it’s exciting to see them making a comeback. Check out the photos to see for yourself.

The landscaping business has been in full swing this summer with seven crews out installing landscaping, woodworking and Irrigation systems. Pictured here is one of the jobs we are working on currently. We are helping this homeowner out create their dream backyard on their country property.

Real Estate News

Our real estate projects are moving along nicely. We’re about to get several severance approvals, which is a big step for us. After a lot of planning, it’s great to see things moving forward.

We’re also ahead of schedule on a new construction project. We’re starting with a duplex and will be adding coach houses and a triplex. We should be breaking ground soon.

Plus, we’re getting ready to demolish a building on Conant Street to make way for a new sixplex. The demolition should start in July, and it’s going to be exciting to get this project underway.

We’ve started our new project! This one involves a full interior waterproofing job which the guys are working away at now. Foundations only last for so long without issues and we began seeing water on the basement floor in the spring. Since this is a long term rental we want to ensure there are no water issues into the future.

That’s a Wrap

That’s all for now! Thanks for catching up with me. Have a fantastic July and enjoy the summer. Stay tuned for more updates next month.

We all got away onto the lake for the long weekend and had a great time. Lots of relaxing, family games and time spent outdoors made it a great weekend!

**Canada Day: Celebrating Unity and Diversity**

Canada Day, celebrated on July 1st, marks the anniversary of Canada’s confederation in 1867, when New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and the Province of Canada united to form a single Dominion. Originally called Dominion Day, it was renamed in 1982 following the patriation of the Canadian Constitution.

The day is celebrated with various festivities across the nation. In Ottawa, Parliament Hill hosts live music, cultural performances, and a grand fireworks display. Communities nationwide enjoy parades, concerts, and communal events, reflecting national pride and unity.

Symbols of Canada Day include the Canadian flag, the maple leaf, and red-and-white color themes. Canadians show their patriotism through these symbols and traditional activities such as barbecues, picnics, and outdoor games.

Canada Day is also a time for reflection on the nation’s history and future. It acknowledges Indigenous contributions and the ongoing journey towards reconciliation and inclusivity.

Ultimately, Canada Day is a celebration of the nation’s unity, cultural diversity, and shared values, honoring its history while looking forward to a future built on respect and understanding.
